If you haven’t checked out the collectible Limited Edition hardcovers from Midworld Press yet, Those Across the River by Christopher Buehlman sounds like a really terrific one to try, which is why I’ve arranged to offer a limited number of copies through the Lividian online store. The first thing that caught my eye was the beautiful artwork by David Palumbo, who has been one of my favorite artists ever since we worked together on ‘Salem’s Lot by Stephen King for Cemetery Dance. His work is stunning, which tells me that Midworld Press has good taste!
About the Book:
The year is 1935. Failed Academic Frank Nichols and his partner, Eudora, have come south to claim an inheritance in the cursed and impoverished town of Whitbrow, Georgia. The nature of the curse is inextricably bound to the lost plantation once owned by Frank’s ancestor, Julien Savoyard, a man so brutal his slaves rose up and murdered him at the end of the Civil War. Frank means to find that plantation, write a book about Savoyard, and restart his career. But a blood debt is owed, and something in those woods has been waiting a long, long time to call it in.
Chesley Award-winning artist David Palumbo has created a wraparound illustration for the dust-jacket and three breathtaking interior illustrations.
