Lividian Publications Has A New Home!

Before we get to the news, here’s a quick reminder that the status of all of our current projects can be found on the Production Updates page. Thanks!

We’ve officially arrived at our new home, the place you see in the photo above: an old church in Nova Scotia, Canada. For those keeping score, that’s an 20 hour drive from where we’ve always lived… and across an international border. Still, when we visited here back in February, we knew: this is the place. If you want to read more about our journey, please visit this free post on my Patreon. But in the meantime, I wanted to get these FAQs out fast because I know there will be some questions about books in production and the future.

HOW OUR MOVE AFFECTS OUR FUTURE AND YOUR ORDERS:

Q: Will you continue publishing the types of books we’ve come to expect from you?

Aside from a plan for a very specific new imprint to launch in 2026, which will be in addition to our regular line, we’re still working with the amazing authors and artists you know and love. We currently have more than 20 books under contract, and several are ready for the printer now.

Did it feel like we front-loaded the year a bit with so many books (A Prayer for the Dying, Carrie’s Legacy, Mystery Walk, The Ferryman, The Haunted, The House, Lost Man’s Lane, and Leviathan) all going to the printer? We wanted to make sure our supporters got their money’s worth this year. (Don’t worry, Wraith by Joe Hill is also rolling at the printer, moving along nicely, and should also ship before the end of the year!)

Q: What about shipping orders? I live in the United States and you’ll be in Canada?

Our new slipcase maker in the US has an excellent system in place for distributing customer orders for their clients, so if you live in the US, that’s the plan for the books we’ve already announced. No need for you to wait for the books to cross a border twice, or deal with extra bureaucracy, customs delays, etc. This means your order for the books mentioned above will ship from their facility within the US. They’ve already shipped The Haunted by Bentley Little for us, and they’re working on The House now.

Q: What about books from other publishers that you’ve sold and/or will sell?

If you’ve preordered another publisher’s book via our store and you live in the US, we have good news. We have several partners in the US — small presses you all know quite well — who will be shipping our US orders for titles from other publishers. In many cases they were already receiving their own stock of these titles, so it was a simple matter of the publisher adding some of our books to that retailer shipment. We’ll be providing the shipping labels, so you’ll still receive the shipping confirmation from us. And ultimately, we’ll obviously still take full responsibility for the delivery of the order. If there are any problems, we’ll fix them!

Q: What about postage on my orders since I live in Canada?

That’ll depend a bit. On future in-stock items, which we will ship from Nova Scotia, postage will decrease. For the books we’ve already announced, our slipcase maker will be shipping your order from a US address, so that postage remains the same for now. Our plan is to ship those Canadian orders from our new place eventually, though, to save you on postage.

Q: I’m an international customer (not in the US or Canada)… what changes for me?

Very little! You’ll still be able to place orders through our store, and shipping will typically come from Nova Scotia or our US fulfillment partner, depending on the product. We’ll always aim for the most efficient and affordable option.

Q: What if I move or my shipping address changes during this transition?

No problem, just email Brian anytime to update your shipping details. If a book is nearing shipment and we notice a potential issue, we’ll reach out to confirm.

Seriously, if you have ANY questions or concerns, please feel free to email me: brian@lividian.com
