Children of the Bedtime Machine by Robert McCammon (chapbook)

“Children of the Bedtime Machine” by Robert McCammon is a perfect-bound chapbook published exclusively for Brian James Freeman’s supporters on Patreon in January 2024. Featuring a full-color cover and three full-color  interior illustrations by François Vaillancourt, this is the sixth of our chapbooks to be printed entirely in full-color, inside and out.

About the Chapbook:
It was a lonely house in a lonely land. The wind blew from here to there and stirred up whorls of lonely dust. Fields burned under a gray sun. The woman who lived in the house was hard. She had to be. It was a hard world now. She could look out across a landscape the color of rust and see in the hazed distance the oil and natural gas pumps that no longer moved. They hadn’t moved for a long time. Their day was finished. And so too had died the wires, after the great storms and the winter heatwaves and the upheavals that had cracked the dry earth and the dusty roads and had nearly, to the woman’s hard blue eyes, rearranged the ridges all the long twenty miles to Douglasville…

Publication Format:
Each chapbook Brian publishes for his Patreon supporters is “housed” in a custom-printed envelope with line artwork and the Lividian Publications logo printed on it. This chapbook was the ninth  to be perfect bound, the sixth to be printed entirely in full-color, and the third to feature the new style of envelope with the artwork printed directly on it. This chapbook was signed by Robert McCammon and François Vaillancourt, and hand-numbered. Limited to a print run of 500 copies.
