About the Chapbook:
On a world burning up and turning to dust, humans still struggled to persevere even though the planet was actively working to eradicate them. The major cities were long deserted, hulking ruins of rusting steel, crumbling concrete, and broken glass. Twisted bridges stretched across barren tracts of parched and cracked land.

The heat in the summer cooked anyone who was dumb enough to venture back into the cities, and the winter months weren’t much better. In the northern regions, there were small communities surviving on just enough rain and temperate weather each year to grow some pebble corn and hardy vegetables. 

To the west of one of these decimated towns was an old farmhouse, standing crooked on a hill that had once been surrounded by lush plains but was now the king of endless hardpan. The ferocious sun and blowing grit had bleached the siding the color of bone.

A man is about to knock on the front door of this house. He brings with him news that will change the family inside forever…
